Irving Crane
Classic Era 1920-1960
US
1913 – 2001
Irving **The Deacon** Crane was Willie Mosconi's most consistent rival through the 1940s and 1950s and one of the greatest straight-pool players ever to compete.
Crane won the World Straight Pool Championship six times between 1942 and 1972, with his final title coming at age 59. His ramrod-straight stance and quiet, contemplative manner set him apart on a circuit otherwise known for showmanship.
He was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 1978.
