Jeanette **The Black Widow** Lee was the most recognisable face of women's pool through the 1990s and 2000s, combining tournament success with a unprecedented level of mainstream-media presence.
Lee won the WPA World Nine-ball Championship (1999), the WPBA Tournament of Champions, and dozens of WPBA Classic Tour events. She was ranked WPBA No. 1 in 1994. Beyond competition she became a sponsor magnet — for nearly a decade she was the sport's highest-earning ambassador.
Lee was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2021 she publicly disclosed a stage-IV ovarian cancer diagnosis and has remained an outspoken advocate for women's health screening.
