Jim **King James** Rempe was one of the dominant American touring pros of the 1970s and 1980s, accomplished across every major pocket-billiards discipline.
Rempe won the WPA World Nine-ball Championship in 1977 and 1985, the US Open Nine-ball Championship in 1979 and 1981, and the World Straight Pool Championship in 1978. He was a multi-time BCA Player of the Year.
He was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 1987.
