Johnny **The Scorpion** Archer was the most decorated American nine-ball player of the 1990s after Earl Strickland, and continued to win into the 2010s. Known for explosive aggression and a willingness to attack from any layout, he became the face of US Mosconi Cup teams for nearly two decades.
Archer won the WPA World Nine-ball Championship twice (1997, 1999), the US Open Nine-ball Championship in 1996, and accumulated 14 Mosconi Cup appearances — the all-time record for the event. He was named BCA Player of the Year twice.
He was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 2009.
