Mike **Captain Hook** Sigel was the most consistent American tournament champion of the late 1970s and 1980s, winning more than 100 major professional titles across straight pool, nine-ball, and one-pocket.
Sigel won the BCA US Open Straight Pool Championship five times, the WPBA Open multiple years, and took the inaugural Camel Pro Tour Player of the Year (1980). He famously defeated Allison Fisher in a much-publicised IPT $150,000 challenge match in 2005, earning one of the largest single-match payouts in pool history.
He was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 1989 — at age 36, one of the youngest ever — and remains a coaching presence on the senior circuit.
