Onofrio Lauri was a Brooklyn-born professional and one of the great straight-pool players of the 1930s and 1940s — a contemporary and rival of Willie Mosconi.

Lauri won the BBPA World Straight Pool Championship in 1944 and was a regular World Tournament competitor through the 1940s and 1950s.

He was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 1996 in recognition of his role as one of the longest-lived links to the pre-WWII golden era of straight pool.
